Old, Unused Cover Art

[entry: pusher]

Hi y'all! I just thought of uploading an old piece I did once for my alma mater's official student magazine, to give your bored eyes something to keep busy with. It's actually an unused cover art for a mini-comics-- the last issue, in particular --that was published along with the magazine (something quite unheard among campus publications).

Its lay-out was uncommon in that it was printed at the back but flipped vertically vis-a-vis the magazine so that it would still be read normally. Now, it became so popular that students began to think it was the one they paid for each semester. True enough, whenever folks visit the office to get their copies, they started to ask if we had "those small comic-books with the free magazines?" Some editors got pissed.

The mini-comics ran for four issues.

Happy New Year and Welcome!

[entry: pusher]

Happy New Year and welcome, Cebu (oh, and the rest of the planet, I guess), to the official blog of the Sugbu League of Independent Comic-book Kickasses! (SLICK!)!

Started in December 2005, we feature a number of serialized comics of various genres in our official pocket comic-book-- SLICK Ink Comics. Now, the book's not for free (sucks, I know), but it's very cheap (yeah!)-- since it's in black and white (hehe).

First issue will (hopefully) launch by the end of January (what a way to start 2006...if were lucky enough) and (ideally) every month after that. If you would press me for more information about it (and I pray you will), it will present two 12-page stories entitled "Memento Mori" by T. Sante and "Journey to New Earth" and J.K. Pangan (yeah, yeah, both of them drew and wrote each of their stuff). The two series (and so will future ones) are set to unfold for eight issues (but who knows if all goes well?).

Again, Welcome and Happy New Year!

P.S. Some information about those creators mentioned above: Sante is a Computer Engineering student while Pangan is a Psychology student and Literary Editor of the official student publication of the college both of them go to (yeah, I used to went to that same college too).
